What’s that saying about the cobbler’s kid going without shoes?
Sometimes, the same is true for the photographer’s kid, or family, going without photos. Or, at least, moving to the bottom of the editing list because of paying client priority.
The biggest of my small ones decided mid-week between two May weddings, that she needed to wear her “wedding dress” and that my second shooter and I needed to take photos of her in it, with wildflowers (alternate description here is weeds), in wheat, and most definitely at sunset.
So, one outfit, two locations. Already a little sketchy given the ask for golden hour light, but, oh-kay, okay.
She dressed herself, went with her messy pigtails, then added lipstick and heels. We obviously couldn’t say no.
With the location change to my brother’s wheat field, we also got better light, and, I must say, much better posing. She also delivered some big laughs at corny jokes. ;-)
And just for the sake of the post, happy (super late, but same month) Independence Day from my crew to yours.
How ‘bout that beautiful mimosa tree in my yard offering a fancy backdrop?
