Your wedding day may be the most photographed day of your life. {Unless, of course, you're J. Law and you tripped (again) at an awards show.} Naturally, you're going to pull out all the stops to take YOU to the next level.
Four thoughts on your wedding makeup:
- You're beautiful. Say it out loud. You. Are. Beautiful. Your husband is not marrying you because of your latest trip to Sephora. You have a big heart, you're kind, you're a good friend.
- Don't let your wedding day be the first time you meet your makeup artist. Whether you're painting your own face or have hired the best makeup artist this side of the Mississippi, your wedding day isn't the day for a trial run. If you're your own artist, get in a few practice rounds (with a timer) and take selfies in various types of light (indoor and outdoor). If you hired a professional, use the complimentary trial run for your bridal portraits.
- Be true to you. If you've never worn MAC Pro Lipstick in Smoked Purple, maybe it's not right for your big day. While you may wear more makeup than a typical Tuesday, build on your natural look.
- Make a habit of your skin care regimen. Think of your face as a canvas. When your skin is properly nurtured, makeup will only accentuate your features. When caring for your skin isn't a priority (lookin' at you Miss I-sleep-in-my makeup), makeup must work harder to cover blemishes. Don't wait until the day before your wedding to start removing your makeup before you hit the hay, apply SPF and regularly moisturize.
